If your child has SEND; a learning or physical disability, that doesn’t necessarily mean they can never be toilet trained.  It may take longer, and they may need more support, but toilet training is possible in most cases.

Dorset Bladder and Bowel Continence Service

The free nurse-led service provides support to people across Dorset with bladder and bowel problems and is delivered by NHS Dorset. 

The Dorset continence service offer telephone advice and support to parents and carers of children aged 4 to 19 years old with continence problems and run clinics across Dorset for adults aged 19 to 25. 

The continence team works with people to alleviate or cure the problem, or to help them manage the problem effectively.

Eric UK, a children’s bladder and bowel charity offer support, advice, an online shop and virtual workshops with the aim to reducing the impact of continence problems on children and their families.

According to them-1 in 12 children live with a bowel or bladder condition.

They have a page with information and advice about toileting for children with additional needs
