Parent Carers Together is a brand new parent carer forum being set up to represent the voices of Parent Carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (0-25 years) in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

Parent Carers Together is a voluntary group of parents and carers of disabled children who are working together to make sure the services in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole local area meet the needs of children with SEND and their families.

We will do this by gathering the views of local families and then working in partnership with local authorities, education settings, health providers and other providers to highlight where local services, processes and commissioners are working well or challenge when changes or improvements need to be made.

The forum is currently in the earliest stages of development and we need lots more parents to get involved. We have a small interim steering committee who will be working together to develop and launch the new forum.

We will also be providing the parent voice in discussions with the local authority and health as the professionals bring the services from all three areas together in the coming months.

We would love to hear from you if you would like to volunteer some time or if you would just like to hear more about the work we are doing and how we hope to improve outcomes for local families.
