Continuing with posts about co-production week-here is a video from a few years ago, but still very relevant!

‘Co-production: from words into actions’- http://youtu.be/SPa3qrDZWp8
-Forums, local authorities (councils), health providers and commissioners share their experiences of working in co-production and how it helped them to improve services in their local community.

Its important to feel you are not alone. 'Climbing the rainbow' have recently shared a post outlining some autistic people in the public eye-past and present and what amazing things they have gone on to achieve.

*Sharing for information*
A local parent called Nicole is starting up a voice room for parents of children with epilepsy to have a safe space to chat or listen or get advice and it is going to run each Wednesday 7.30pm til 8.30pm from tonight on an app called ‘Circles-online support group’.

It’s not like Facebook- It is a drop in, with no cameras - voices only! The voice rooms are free.
For a first time user-give yourself a few minutes to download the app and sign up (no card details needed, just a name, email and number) and from there you can pick the topics you are interested in joining rooms for- I picked ‘parenting challenges’ and then clicked on the ‘voice’s’ button (bottom right of my phone) and then scrolled through the list of daily voice rooms until I found Nicole’s one ‘parenting a child with epilepsy’ by Nicole Bateman Wednesday 7.30pm.

Nicole’s voice room is is open to any parents and carers in Dorset, BCP or even England.

Nicole is trying to reach lots of parents of children with epilepsy as she thinks it will be a really great space to vent and share with people who totally experience the worry and unpredictability of epilepsy for their children.

Please note-although I tested the app to see how a new user would log in and navigate the site, I have note joined any rooms myself.

Parent Carers Together would be keen to know from anyone who decides to give the app and indeed Nicole’s voice room a go, how you found it.

Thanks

With rising energy costs, inflation and cost of living pressures, this may leave you worried. Click the link to see what support you could be eligible for.

Hi all. I'm raising the issue of A&E experiences with Dorset NHS to make them aware that taking a child or young person with additional needs is not always plain sailing, and the staff responses are vital. This is particularly relevant as injuries rise over the summer holidays.
Can any of you share your experiences? Good or bad. Maybe what has made it better, or what could make it better?
Either comment here, or email me:

Thanks!
