DHSC Consultation

There is an open consultation by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) on the requirement for providers to gather a full employment history when appointing health and social care volunteers. Providers would still be able to ask for this, but there is no requirement to do so.

The consultation will close at 11.59pm on 18th November. 

Young People and Suicide 

The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) are looking into suicide and self-harm prevention of young people. 

The APPG has launched a mini-inquiry and want to hear from:

  • Young people ages 18-25 with lived experience of suicidal thoughts, feelings and/or attempt(s)
  • People aged over 18 who have been impacted by the suicide of a young person

The consultation will close on 18th November. 

There is a report on the inquiry undertaken in 2020 and also an executive summary.  

Young People’s Advocacy Services

This consultation is regarding the revisions to National Standards and Statutory Guidance for Provision of Young People’s Advocacy Services.

This is not about SENDiass, it is aimed at Care Leavers, Children in Need, but included in the scope are those young people who are requiring support into adulthood – continuing care and support and young carers.  

This consultation will close on 18th December.
