DfE have requested the Law Commission do a consultation on Children’s Social Care
The Law Commission is reviewing the legal framework for disabled children’s social care. They are primarily looking to simplify the law and make entitlements clearer, but will also make wider reaching recommendations such as having a national eligibility criteria for accessing children’s services.
There will be 2 online public events people will need to register for:
- Online public event (evening): 16 December, 7:30pm-9:00pm
- Online public event (lunch time): 6 January, 12:30pm-2:00pm

The consultation is running until 20th January 2025.

Admission arrangements for BCP schools 2026-2027
BCP Council is co-ordinating the consultation on proposed 2026-2027 admission arrangements for publicly funded mainstream schools located within the BCP Council area.
Comments or objections can be submitted directly to the school(s) or by email to school.admissions@bcpcouncil.gov.uk – any comments sent to the local authority will be forwarded to the relevant school.
