Parent Carers Together are proud to be part of the national Autism in Schools (AiS) project along with Dorset ICB and BCP Council. Funding has been given from NHS England (NHSE) to support the project.
Primary and Secondary schools signed up to the AiS project and completed a training workshop for school staff and parents which was delivered by Linwood School.
Our role is to help the local schools put the learning from the course into practice by engaging with them, parents and carers to better support the needs of neurodiverse children and young people.
The project aims to improve:
- the school environment
- relationships between staff, parents and students
- access to early intervention and
- reduce exclusions
Avonwood, Parkfield, Christ the King and St Edwards schools have expressed an interest in being one of our pilot schools, we are currently arranging coffee morning dates with them to talk with parents in more detail about our role in this project.
