Partnership Working

Who We Work With

Parent Carers Together work in partnership with BCP, NHS Dorset (formally known as Dorset CCG) and other service providers including Healthwatch, Dorset Parent Carer Council and local parent and carer SEND groups.

PLEASE NOTE- As the parent carer forum for BCP (Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole), we use our social platforms and our webpage to share with our followers information on behalf of other organisations (examples above) on local and national training, services and activities (some free of charge, others incurring a fee to the parent) with a SEND focus which may be of interest to you and your family. In doing so, the forum would like to make it clear, we do not endorse any other organisation, nor is PCT responsible for the actions of other organisations.
It is important people should make their own enquiries to ensure the activity or event is suitable to meet your individual/family’s needs.  We are unable to give recommendations.

SEND Awareness Video

We helped develop this video with NHS Dorset (Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group at the time) as part of the SEND Tier 1 Awareness Training.

What is Co-production?

Co-production occurs when there is an equal partnership with people using services, in our case,  parents and carers of children and young people with SEND.  Working in co-production can really support and empower those families with children with SEND.

True co-production occurs when parent carer forums (including Parent Carers Together) are fully and equally involved in the decision-making process and actively participate in shaping, developing, implementing and evaluating services and systems.

This video ‘Co-production: from words into actions’ shows forums, local authorities (councils), health providers and commissioners sharing their experiences of working in co-production and how it helped them to improve services in their local community.

PCT were asked to contribute a presentation on a Parental Perspective of What is Coproduction to be delivered to BCP staff which we presented on July 12th 2023.  There were also presentations from BCP Youth Champions and Young People from SENDiass – We Are Limitless delivered on the day.
