📍Steering Group Recruitment: Parent Carer Research Network
We are sharing this info for the Parent Carer Research Network, which was set up in 2024 to champion the voices of parents and carers in children and young people's mental health research. The network is run in partnership by Mental Health in Development at the University of Oxford and the Charlie Waller Trust.
The network is guided by a steering group of parents and carers with lived experience of supporting a child or young person with mental health problems. They are currently recruiting for two new members of their steering group to:
💬Have a say on how the network runs and can help shape what we do
💡Work together on ideas, resources, and support for other parents, carers, and researchers
🥬Make a real difference in a supportive, welcoming space.
While anyone can apply, they are particularly keen to hear from groups underrepresented in their network:
👦Fathers and male carers
👦Parents and carers living in the Midlands, North of England, or devolved nations
👦Adoptive or foster parents and carers
More information on how to apply can be found here - the deadline for applications is 1st June 2026: mhid.org.uk/join-the-parent-carer-research-network-steering-group/
The network itself is free to join for all parents and carers. They support parents and carers and researchers to work together in the most meaningful and safe way.
