The Community Action Network has kindly offered to deliver two exclusive We CAN talk about Cancer sessions over TEAMS to members of Parent Carers Together:
👉Tomorrow Wednesday 24th June between 1pm-2pm
👉Thursday 25th June between 7pm-8pm

Today we held our monthly steering group meeting at the harvester, alder hills.

Topics of conversation included the future meetings we’ve been invited too and the volunteer form we use for gathering feedback.

We hope to formally meet Troy, the new BCP SEND Services Manager at our July meeting.

📸 apologises for the rubbish photo- the sun was shining down and blinding my phone ☀️ .
I normally try and take a photo of the rest of the steering group mid meeting but they were trying hard not to melt into a puddle 🥵😂

📣BCP Local Offer: Parent Carers, the Council need your help!

🤔What is the Local Offer?
The SEND Local Offer is a guide that shares information and resources about the people and services who can support children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND). BCP have a website that helps parent carers and children and young people with SEND find out what support they can get in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

🤔How you can help!
Parents and carers of children and young people with SEND and those young people themselves can help the Council make the Local Offer even better by sharing ideas, saying what works well, and helping improve services.

Pick either the parent or young person survey to complete:

Both have 5 questions for you to answer (the young person's survey has an additional question about age of participant). Your answers will be looked at by a group of people who are working on making the Local Offer even better.

📌Safe Clubs for Children -13th July

BCP Council LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer) Team will be running two events for parents and carers who may be looking for safe providers such as Alternative Provision, Tutors, Mentors, sports groups, social groups, drama and art clubs etc. These sessions will give you pointers on how to ask the right questions to help you make an informed choice for your child/young person.

Both sessions will follow the same format, so please feel free to pop along to either of the sessions on Monday 13th July 2026:

Queens Park Golf Club 9.30am – 12 noon
OR
Kinson Community Centre 2.30pm – 5pm

These events are being supported by:

*Holiday Activities Fund
*Family Information Service

The purpose of the sessions is for you to- Feel Confident. Ask Questions. Stay Informed.
