The 5 Steps to Wellbeing are evidence-based actions that can help boost your mood and overall mental health:
1. Connect 🤝
Strong relationships help us feel supported and valued. Try catching up with a friend, joining a group, or volunteering your time.
2. Be Active 🏃♀️
Movement can lift your mood and boost confidence. Whether it's walking, swimming, dancing or cycling – find something you enjoy and make it part of your routine.
3. Take Notice 🍃
Pause and be present. Tune into your thoughts, surroundings, and sensations. Try mindful walking, photography, or simply notice the sights and sounds around you.
4. Give 💛
Kindness matters. Helping others or showing appreciation can give you a sense of purpose. Say thank you, lend a hand, or check in on a friend.
5. Keep Learning 📚
Trying something new can build confidence and spark joy. Learn a new recipe, take a course, or pick up a creative hobby.
