🎙️Made My Way: The Podcast — real stories and real solutions for a brighter future📻

We’re sharing a new project for families and carers of people with learning disabilities and/or autism who will need extra support in adulthood. A brand‑new podcast is being developed, and before recording begins, the creator wants to hear directly from the community.

If you’re a parent or carer of a learning‑disabled or autistic young person or adult, please take a few minutes to complete this short survey. Your feedback will help shape what the podcast covers, how long episodes should be, and where you’d prefer to listen.

The survey is open until March 16th at 10pm.

Your views will help shape the podcast from the very start.

We’re pleased to share that more specialist school places will soon be available for children and young people with special educational needs across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

It is proposed that the former Parkfield School site will become a new satellite of Linwood School, offering spaces for children with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities and SEMH needs.

By creating more local specialist places, we’re helping children stay closer to home, reducing travel times and strengthening support for families.

Cllr Richard Burton, Portfolio Holder for Children and Young People, said:

“We know that timely access to the right specialist support can be lifechanging for children and young people and for their families. The new campus proposed at the former Parkfield site will mean more children can access quality specialist places within the BCP area."

More updates will follow as the site develops.
