About Us

We work in partnership with the local authority, health services and other service providers to:

  • raise awareness
  • influence change
  • support parents and carers

To have a voice in how SEND services are shaped and delivered in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

Find out more about how Parent Carers Together have been supporting local families during COVID in a letter written by members of our Steering Group to parents living in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

Comments from Parents, Carers and other Agencies about the Forum:

"Thank you for being there for us" (A parent)

"Thanks for being our voice" (A parent)

“The forum members work extremely hard to forward the voice of Parents to the Local Authority and are very dedicated in their endeavours. The work they have done so far has made a huge difference to our family and I can see it has benefited lots of other families too. Not only has their work helped families who are members either but their work has helped many families who likely do not know Parent Carers Together exists. The Parent Carers Together Support Group is very useful and is run by people who are friendly and caring. I'm extremely grateful. Thank you!” (A parent 25.6.2020)

“As a SEN parent you often feel you are alone in fighting for your child - having followed PCT and it’s previous form for the last year or so I now realise there are many more SEN parents doing a lot of work behind the scenes to help the rest of us be heard and counted. Incredible really when you know they are also facing tough daily lives and still finding strength to represent others”  (A parent 25.6.2020)

"We LOVE what you guys are doing" (The Chatterboxes, 3.7.2020)

"Lots of great signposting so that will keep me busy. Thank you so much to all of you" (A parent 7.7.2020)

“The Parent Carers Together group is such a wonderful resource for parents to get to know others in the same situation, while also receiving vital help and support from the organisations that are here to make life easier, like ourselves.” (Elaine Ewing, Advice Team Manager, September 2020)
